Ingredients:
One to two pounds of Swiss steak (pounded round steak)
One large onion, quartered
Six or more long carrots, washed and peeled
Three large baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
Two cans Campbell’s tomato soup
Meat seasoning – Misty’s or something similar
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Oil (enough to coat bottom of frying pan)
Directions:
Rub the steak
with meat seasoning and salt and pepper.
Lightly brown the meat in a skillet of hot oil. Place meat in a baking dish with onions,
carrots, and potatoes. Lightly salt and
pepper vegetables. Pour the condensed
soup over the top and bake in a covered baking dish at 350° until vegetables
are tender (approximately an hour and a half depending on the quantity of
vegetables). This receipe is made to
order for a Dutch oven. Just brown the
meat in the Dutch oven instead of a skillet and put in the vegetables and
soup. Cover and bake.
